   Bugün Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi’nin (TBMM) 29 Ekim 1923’te kabul ettiği Cumhuriyet’in 91. yıldönümünü kutluyoruz.

   Republic, Batı medeniyetlerinde gelişmiş, kökü Roma İmparatorluğuna kadar giden bir kavramdır. İngilizcede ‘Republic’, Fransızca ‘Republique’, Almanca ‘Republik’ diye geçen kavramın kökeni Latince ‘Res Publika’ sözcüğünden gelir; bu da bu kavramın kullanılmaya başlandığı dönemdeki anlamı itibarıyla ‘Halkı ilgilendiren konular’ anlamına gelir. Roma İmparatorluğu yönetiminde oluşturulan Res Publika birimi, hem halktan alınan vergilerle, hem de yönetici kadro dışındaki halka verilen hizmetlerle ilgileniyordu.

   Zaman içinde çeşitli evrimler geçiren ‘Res Publika’, yüzyıllar süren süreç içerisinde ‘halkın yönetime katılımı’ olarak kendini yeniledi; daha sonraki süreçte yönetici kadroların seçimlerle göreve getirilmelerini sağladı.

   Avrupa’da 1500’lü yıllarda başlayan aydınlanma hareketi 1798 Fransız Devrimi ile doruk noktasına ulaştı ve Avrupa toplumlarında demokrasi hareketini beraberinde getirdi. Demokrasi de en basit ifadeyle üç ‘Y’nin birleşiminden ibarettir; Yasama (halk tarafından seçilen meclisin aldığı kararlar), Yürütme (yasaları uygulamayla yükümlü olarak tayin edilen başbakan ve bakanlar) ve Yargı (yasaların uygulanmasıyla ilgili sorunları çözmek için oluşturulan savcılık, avukatlık ve hâkimlik birimleri). Bu üç ‘Y’nin birbirinden bağımsız şekilde çalışabilmesi de demokrasinin olmazsa olmazlarındandır.

   TBMM’nin 29 Ekim 1923’te kabul ettiği Cumhuriyet, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün isteği ile gökten zembille inmedi; 1. Meşrutiyetin ilan edildiği 1876’dan itibaren devam eden bir süreç vardı Osmanlı’da. Osmanlı’da ilk seçimler 1876’da yapıldı; sonraki dönemlerde de seçimler oldu. 23 Nisan 1920’de seçilen TBMM emperyalist güçlere karşı bağımsızlık mücadelesi verilmesini istedi ve bunu başardı; 1923 Haziran ve Temmuz aylarında seçilen TBMM ise 29 Ekim 1923’te Cumhuriyetin ilanına karar verdi.

   1868’lere kadar uzanan Danıştay ve Yargıtay’ın tarihi ile Cumhuriyet dönemindeki demokratikleşme süreci de 1946’da yapılan çok partili seçimlerle yeni bir evrim geçirdi. Bu arada 1923-1946 yılları arasındaki dönemlerde TBMM’deki tek parti CHP içerisinde oluşturulan 1. Grup ve 2. Grup’un da çok partili döneme geçişte büyük rol oynadıklarını belirtmek gerekir. Yani 23 yıllık bu dönemde her ne kadar yönetimde tek parti olsa bile, parti içerisinde yönetime muhalif olan 2. bir grup vardı ve bu grup Celal Bayar önderliğinde TBMM’de açıkça sesini duyurabiliyordu.

   Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, emperyalist güçlere karşı bağımsızlık savaşı vermiş ve kazanmış, hemen arkasından Cumhuriyeti ilan etmiş ve kısa bir süre sonra çok partili demokrasiye geçmiş ilk ve halen tek Müslüman ülkedir. İşte bunun için Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün ‘Az zamanda büyük işler başardık’ sözü anlamlıdır.

   Atatürk’ün kurduğu Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, halkın yönetime etkin katılımı ile cumhuriyet; yasama, yürütme ve yargı bağımsızlığı ile demokrasi ve din ile hurafeleri birbirinden ayırarak devletin bütün dinlere karşı aynı mesafede kalmasını sağlayan laiklik ile dünyanın hiçbir Müslüman ülkesinde başarılamayanı başardı. Ne Suudiler, ne İran mollaları ne de Kaddafi’nin Libya İslam Cemahiriyesi bunu başarabildi. Cumhuriyetten, demokrasiden ve laiklikten ödün vermek Türkiye’yi 1876 Osmanlı’sına geri götürür.

Bible simplified, Love is centered in religion instead of fear of hell. Worship is internalized in people's behavior in daily life.. To man freed from the grip of superstitions, leaving the educated mind free, The way has been opened for him to present himself in a different beauty each time.. For believers, looking for the Creator in these beauties must be one of the most beautiful forms of worship..

   Republic, It is a movement of enlightenment for the Anatolian people. It is a courageous movement put forward at the initiative of a small intellectual group such as Atatürk and his friends.. this move, He tried to give Islam a rational dimension by taking it from incompetent madrasahs and introducing it into schools., It also leaves worship free to the individual's own choice and conscience.. The brokerage between Allah and His servants has been ended.. The concepts of republic and secularism are great values ​​that Mustafa Kemal gave us as a gift within the scope of enlightenment.. These values ​​are still what protects and sustains us in the Islamic World that is currently on fire.; Even though they are diluted.
